We are pretty sure Katherine + Evan’s wedding was straight out of a dream… or maybe even, heaven, perhaps? *wink* We love how Katherine mentions they met through serendipity. You can read the story from their questionnaire here:
Evan and I met through mutual friends and serendipity. About four years ago, Evan started working with one of my close friends from Notre Dame, Vicke, who was looking to fill an open spot in her Chicago apartment. The timing was right for Evan, who was new to Chicago and looking for opportunities to branch out and meet new people. Evan and I met soon after, when I was introduced to “the new third roommate” at the airbnb where we were all staying for our annual ND tailgate. After that weekend, our paths continued to cross until Evan got my number at Vicke’s wedding (we owe a lot of Vicke for our relationship!). We went on our first date a week later and have truly been inseparable ever since.”
You can hear more of their love story in their letters to one another in their trailer below:
Where to start with this beautiful day? First of all the planning team at Shannon Gail Weddings and Events did a phenomenal job with event design and coordination, and they were so fun to work with throughout the day. The morning started in the suites at The Drake Chicago, where Katherine was pampered by the hair team at George the Salon, and had her make-up done by the crew at Three One Two Bridal. We loved how her and her girls wore matching maxi dresses and popped confetti before slipping into their gowns for the day. All of the bridesmaids looked angelic in their flower crowns and Jenny Yoo gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, they were the perfect compliment to Katherine who wore a lush, full ballgown covered in beading with sheer sleeves by Monique Lhuillier from Ultimate Bride Chicago. Meanwhile, in another suite just a few floors away, Evan enjoyed time with his favorite guys and family as he suited up into his Armani Tux. His groomsmen wore tuxes from The Black Tux, and with their ranunculus boutonnieres they were ready to head to St. James Chapel for their once in a lifetime ceremony. We love that Katherine and her Parents took a white Rolls Royce from Classic Wedding Car to the church.
The choir from Holy Name Cathedral were impeccable as Katherine walked down the aisle with her mother and father, Evan had the sweetest reaction to his bride, and the two had an amazing and sacred ceremony, officiated by Father William McNulty. After being crowned and lighting a unity candle, the deal was sealed with a kiss and the two were off to their ribbon-wand exit. They rode around on a Windy City Limo party bus and took photos with the phenomenal Rebecca Peplinski.
Next the guests were off to The Drake for cocktail hour. They enjoyed delicious food and beverages and enjoyed the sounds of TVK Orchestra before being ushered to the ballroom by the Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band. Once they entered the reception, guests were blown away by the rooms fabulous design; decor by Polly’s Petals & Particulars, linens from BBJ Linen, candle light, fabulous floral, and one heavenly atmosphere. The couple entered and danced with their closest friends, cut a beautiful cake by Vanille (via The Drake), enjoyed an amazing dinner, toasts from their loves ones, and then danced the night away with all of their favorite people. Oh, and we can’t forget how Katherine’s mom surprised her with her favorite Chorus Line to kick off the evening of dancing, SO FUN!
This day was energetic, angelic, and bursting with love. We are so honored Katherine + Evan chose us to capture it. Congratulations on a lifetime of love, you two!
