Here’s a little more about how the couple met (from their questionnaire):
“John and Julie were introduced by their mutual friend Emily at a Mardi Gras party when they were law students at the University of Michigan. Julie mentioned to John that she had studied mime at Northwestern, which got them talking about their high school musicals. John charmed Julie with the story of accidentally knocking his brother’s tooth out during a rehearsal for Bye Bye Birdie (John was Hugo Peabody, and his brother was Conrad Birdie). John asked Julie to go to Ash Wednesday Mass with him the next day. Because she had class, Julie declined (a decision she immediately regretted), and then she left to go study for an exam..”
To hear the rest you’re going to have to watch their trailer, shucks. 😉
We are so thrilled these two chose us to capture their big day. The day started at Design 1 Salon & Spa, where Julie and her bridesmaids got pampered by the hair and make-up team. Meanwhile, John and his buddies hung out and put on their handsome black tuxes and got ready for the big day. Once Julie and her friends had all gotten a good breakfast, she slipped into her flawless low back wedding gown, adorable flats, and was ready to see her dad and walk down the aisle.
The couple had a gorgeous ceremony at Basilica of St. Adalbert; Modern Day Floral & Events did a beautiful job adorning pews with lush pink peonies, and the love this couple had for one another was so evident as she walked down the aisle.
After a kiss, the couple was off for photos, while guests headed to Kent Country Club for cocktail hour. Modern Day Floral & Events knocked the event design and floral out of the park, as always. The couple entered their reception and went straight to cut their cake. They heard toasts from loved ones, ate a delicious meal, and before long were out on the dance floor to break it down to the sounds of the Chicago Catz.
We had a blast with these two fun loving people, and we’re so thrilled they’re married! Congratulations!
