These days we are certainly more likely to pick up a phone, send a text or a quick message on social media when we want to talk to somebody. Technology is great but remember when we used to send and receive hand-written letters? It is a form of communication that has gotten lost in the day and age we live in. John and Amanda revived this lost art the day they got married at Basilica of St. Mary in Livonia, MI.
We have the privilege of capturing some of the unseen moments before the ceremony happens…the quiet moments between family members or when a bride and groom exchange letters or gifts. When John and Amanda read their love letters to each other, it was so evident that their hearts are uniquely connected and the love between them genuine and meant to be. They both have such an eloquent way of describing their love for each other! We love the story about how a wish John made after touching an Altoid box at 11:11 one day, years before their wedding day, came true in this magical love story. You’ll need to watch this incredible trailer to hear the rest of the story!
John and Amanda’s wedding was a special day to be a part of. We captured so many memorable moments starting with the girls getting ready at Amanda’s house. Amanda stunned her bridal party when they turned around to see her in her dress by Jules Joyner Designs. John and his groomsmen had a great time preparing together at the The Baronette Renaissance Detroit-Novi Hotel. They all looked dapper in their suits by Sam Michaels.
The Basilica of St. Mary in Livonia, MI provided a gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony and the elegance continued as guests and the bridal party arrived at the Planterra Conservatory for the reception. The Planterra is a botanical garden greenhouse that provides the most beautiful, serene atmosphere for an intimate reception. All floral décor was provided by the Planterra Conservatory. The delicate pink and white roses amidst the lush greenery created an enchanted room for their special evening. Their elegant, two-tiered cake adorned with flowers was provided by Sweet Heather Ann. The delicious cookies and milk dessert at the reception was from Guernsey Farms Dairy and the Planterra Conservatory. It’s always a pleasure to work with other incredible vendors and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with their wedding planner, Ann Travis, and their photographer, Sean Cook.
John and Amanda, you both were incredible to work with and we are so grateful for the opportunity to capture your love story. Thank you for allowing us to share the day with you and your family and friends! Best wishes as you explore where life takes you next!
