While it may have been a bit chilly outside for Tom and Danielle’s big day, it was quite the opposite inside Planterra for their gorgeous candlelight wedding ceremony! These two have been planning events together for years, so we knew we were going to have an absolute blast capturing their romantic and lively wedding.
"We met at a music festival in Rothbury, Michigan called Electric Forest in 2011. I (Danielle) was working for Axe body spray as a promotional model and Tom was there with his brother and best friends. I was already friends with Tom's brother for a few years prior to this and the introduction was made and the rest was history. No, just kidding.
After the introduction, we didn't get reacquainted until 2012. Tom owned Pure promotions and I was still doing promotional work at that time. Soon after that I started working in the Pure office full time as his personal assistant, creative director, and best friend. We started dating in 2014 and have continued to work together.
We have had a theme of "chasing sunsets" our whole relationship. We travel all over the US together for work and always manage to find a mountain to climb (with our dog) and catch a sunset. We got engaged on May 4, 2019, in Cardiff by the Sea, California. After a couple of days of strategic planning on Tom's end, after dinner, he proposed on the beach at sunset with one of my best friends and her husband. They recorded/photographed the entire thing and brought champagne with, all much to my surprise. I said yes before he opened the box. We are getting married at sunset under a glass roof."
The day began with the whole bridal party hanging out and getting ready on separate levels of the same house. The bride and her girls began their prep upstairs with Cheeky Strut on site working their magic on everyone’s hair and Brittany Andring bringing the style on makeup. While Tom and the boys strung chinese lanterns at the venue before heading downstairs and suiting up in their Baryames tuxedos.
Before we knew it, the time had come for the final step: dresses! First, the bridesmaids slipped into their Portia & Scarlett dresses. Then, not a dry eye could be found when Danielle stepped into her drop dead gorgeous Fantastic Finds wedding gown. So stunning!
We always love shooting at Planterra Conservatory, and once again, they did not disappoint! With floral and decor everywhere you turn it was a feast for the eyes. 😍 The two arrived ready to finally see each other for their first look and then they were off to capture some photos with Tara Danielle while guests arrived for the ceremony. As they have their whole relationship, they timed their ceremony to “chase the sun set.” Tom and Danielle made their vows to each other in the presence of all their family and friends and even performed a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Then with a kiss they were off, ready to celebrate!
Toasts given by candlelight, dinner catered by Forte Belanger, and the cake and desserts provided by Petite Sweets Detroit, this reception was off to a hot start! Everyone had their fill and then it was time to hit the dance floor. With music provided by Mixxin Dj's, everyone had a great time and danced the night away! It all came to a fairytale end with a sparkler exit ushering Tom and Danielle into their new life together.
