Coastline Studios is a well-traveled company, especially across the state of Michigan. We love going out and experiencing the vast variety of wedding locations this one state has to offer, but we equally enjoy shooting right here in our own backyard. The relaxed elegance of Elizabeth and Luke's Grand Rapids wedding was just as fun to shoot as any destination event, and we're excited to share it with you!
Here's a little something from their questionnaire on how they met:
"Luke and I met in 8th grade at a high school basketball game but it wasn't until our sophomore year of high school, when Luke transferred into my Biology class mid year, that we became interested in each other. We spent that entire next summer together and finally began dating the day before our Junior year of high school began. We stayed together all of high school and then both went off to separate colleges and made the 4 years of long distance work between weekend trips, facetime calls, and holidays/summers spent at home. After graduation we both moved home and were finally done with long distance. Summer of 2018 we took a trip to visit his grandparents in Seagirt NJ and Luke proposed to me at sunrise on the beach."
We started the day splitting up to cover each side of the wedding party at their respective family residences. Everyone spent the morning laughing, chatting, and just overall enjoying the company of best friends (which is the best part of the morning, in our opinion ). The girls enjoyed this time while the team from Hanna Wagner Design did their thing with all the hairs and the make-ups
. And then, once the girls were in their dresses, and guys in their tuxes, we headed over to the always-prestine Cathedral of Saint Andrew.
It was a beautiful traditional ceremony with Luke's dad playing a song on the guitar while the couple made their Marian Devotion. Some vows, a kiss, and a ribbon wand exit later, and we were off to the reception!
Cascade Hills Country Club is always an amazing venue. Period. But, when you give Rhiannon Bosse Celebrations the reins of your coordination, something magical is sure to be produced. This day was no exception, and together with rentals from Events By I Candy and Event Theory, Rhiannon's team was able to put together an incredible reception, yet again! Seriously guys, we couldn't help but shoot every little detail of this place
The day was everything we could hope for in a relaxed, elegant Grand Rapids wedding, and once the lights went down, the glow batons came out, and everyone hit the floor to party with the Bluewater Kings Band! We did get to sneak away with the couple and Samantha James Photography for a dazzling sunset photosesh, so make sure to stick around for that near the end of the trailer
We wish you two all the love and happiness we know the married life will offer you, Elizabeth and Luke. Congratulations on Forever!
