We adore a good love story, and Matthew's vows to Jacilyn during their beautiful Holland wedding ceremony had not only their guests, but our videographers laughing along with them at how these two fell in love. 🙂
"Matt and I met while running cross country at Hope College. We were friends for 3 years before we started dating. In 2015, we went on a school trip to India. During the trip, we were attached at the hip! We did almost everything together, including getting food poisoning and throwing up into the same trash can haha. We both felt our relationship was growing stronger during the trip and we starting dating when we got back home. For the next year, we both lived in Holland, MI. We enjoyed going to Lake Michigan, rollerskating and watching survivor. In 2016, I got a teaching in Bowie, MD and Matt started med school in Detroit. We did long distance for a year but we knew we wanted to be together so on March 17, 2017 Matt proposed and I said yes!"
We met up with Jacilyn and her girls at the marvelous Harderwyk Ministries as they were catching up and getting their makeup done before stepping into their dresses. While Jacilyn's mother and twin sister helped her into her stunning A'doraBelle Bridal Boutique gown, Matthew and his guys were across town suiting up into their Jos. A. Bank ensembles and toasting to a great marriage for the couple 🙂
Once the men made it to the church and Matthew was in place, Jacilyn and her father had quite a few of us (including Matthew!) welling up as the two started their march down the aisle to meet Jaci's groom. 😍 With close friends performing music for the ceremony, and quite a few funny stories told, we were definitely able to feel the love that this congregation of friends and family have for Jaci and Matt.
After a fun photo session and some delectable cocktails, the two made their grand entrance into the Baker Lofts, which was only made more gorgeous thanks to the combined floral efforts of the bride herself and Picket Fence Floral & Design. Speeches by loved ones, catering from Gilmore Catering, a delicious cake/dessert table by Holland Cakery ' n' Sweets, and Haley Jean Photography by our side made for a fantastic evening, and one their guests surely will not forget.
