Chelsea and Sri were such a fun couple to work with over in Ann Arbor! Here is what they told us about how they met:
"We met through work! We both work at PwC as consultants. We were working on a large project in Springfield, Illinois. Chelsea was traveling from Atlanta and Sri was traveling from Appleton, Wisconsin every week (Monday through Thursday). When you're traveling for work every week, you spend a lot of time with your coworkers - breakfast, lunch, dinner, working out, hanging out, etc. We are both avid runners, and would run individually. One day, we decided to run together - and that became a daily thing for us. We'd get up early every morning for our run together before work. Just as friends! But, that was the time when we really got to know each other - and realized we had TONS in common and loved learning about each other's families, cultures, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
After spending lots of time together, we knew there was more, and secretly started dating. Sri would come to Atlanta and Chelsea would go to Appleton to visit each other on the weekends too. Where they met each other's friends and families.
Eventually, we were no longer on the same project, and it was getting really difficult to see each other since we were living in different cities and traveling to different projects. We decided to take a huge leap of faith and move to Denver, CO - where we knew nobody. We wanted to start a new life together - creating our own home and building our new friend group. After over a year in Denver, Sri invited Chelsea's entire family (5 siblings and her parents!) out to visit them. Chelsea thought that they were coming just to visit them. They went for a hike Saturday morning (August 4, 2018), and when Sri and Chelsea had a moment alone, he proposed to her in one of the most beautiful spots in the mountains! Chelsea started crying and it was just perfect!"
Traditional American weddings are great, don't get us wrong, but we Love when cultures collide on a wedding day! Capturing all the fun moments and reactions to those moments from all of the family and friends make for a really great video. Chelsea and Sri's day was all of this and more, and we are so excited to share it with you!
We arrived in Ann Arbor that morning to capture Chelsea stepping into her BEAUTIFUL Pronovias gown from Becker's Bridal, and Sri getting into his dashing Suitsupply. After which, both sat down and told us a little about their stories, and how excited they are for their big day! SPOILER WARNING: it's the year of adorable Father-Daughter first looks, and this is one is no exception!
Following the morning's prep, we all departed for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. It was most of Sri's family's first Catholic ceremony (coming from India), and they all seemed just as touched as we were by the couple's obvious love for one another as Chelsea stepped into the aisle that day.
After the I Do's and a kiss, we were off to Frutig Farms for a fantastic barn reception! Guests had plenty of opportunities get tastes of the colliding cultures; with yard games, henna tattoos by Kelly Caroline, American food and coordination by Angel Food Catering Inc., and Indian dishes from Shalimar Cuisine of India. The inside of this barn was really something to see, with gorgeous floral by Bella Fiori and stationary by Shaytionery Designs.
It was a packed house, and we consider ourselves lucky to be invited to join Chelsea and Sri in such a wonderful, cultural Ann Arbor wedding. We loved working alongside Adventure Photo Stories all day capturing all the events from bridesmaids and bridesmen learning to floss, to the bride and groom's choreographed Bollywood dance!
We wish you all the best in your married life, Chelsea and Sri!
