On a whirlwind day in Northern Michigan, Melissa + Joe said I do.. but first, let's go back to how they met (from the couple questionnaire):
"Joe may say it began in high school when he was a Freshman and I was a Senior, but for me the story is a little different. I had recently moved to DC for work, not knowing a single person, but that was the adventure..or so I thought. Shortly after moving, my good friend invited me to Joe's brother’s (JJ) surprise party in Vegas. She asked me to join her, but the flight was crazy expensive so I was going to sit this one out. My friend insisted and ended up giving me her miles instead. When I arrived and saw Joe he became forever known to me as "freshman". Come to find out, Joe was moving to DC in two weeks for work and would be there for the next year. I thought he was joking but two weeks later he arrived in DC to take me on our first date. From that day on I knew I was in trouble...Work then took him to Nashville, and I soon followed. This turned out to be one of the best years of our lives! We created so many great memories there with family and friends and with the amazing people we got to meet along the way. We headed back home to MI where he proposed in Traverse City at The Franklin on a snowy night before NYE. God had a plan for us, it just took a little longer than we expected:)
I call Joe "My Freshman" because that's technically when we first met...and who wouldn't want to marry the "Senior on the Dance Team"
SOOOO cute! Of course, when they started planning their big day and they gave us a call we over the moon to be included!
Giving the Peninsula Room of Traverse City a rustic chic feel made for a fantastic event! Joe and Melissa were so fun, so sweet, and their vows are sure to melt your heart!
Our day started at Hotel Indigo Traverse City. Here we found Melissa doing her final hair and make-up touches with the team over at M . O . Hair and Beauty Lounge. Before long they were opening gifts, and we would just like to say any guy who gets his future bride some practical Louis Vuitton's is 100% a keeper!
Next, Melissa was slipping into gorgeous wedges, and her stunning lace gown from Piera's Bridal Couture. Meanwhile, across the hotel Joe was suiting up in his blue Jos. A. Bank suit. Also, did you catch his wooden bow tie?! So good!!
We absolutely adore when Joe sees Melissa walking down the aisle. So genuine and sweet and blown away by his gorgeous bride. With a sweet kiss and a lot of cheering, these two were off to party!
fox + fern events did such a phenomenal job planning this breath-taking day. Peninsula Room of Traverse City was the perfect backdrop for this rustic chic event, and when you throw in floral by 307 Events and Tents it makes for one gorgeous wedding. Plus, we can not forget all the fun details: The Magic Shuttle Bus was there, Miriam Pico Music performed at the ceremony, Josh Vietti was there on strings all evening playing alongside 2Bays DJs - it was a PARTY!
We had so so much fun capturing your special day, Melissa + Joe. We wish you all the happiness in the world as you start your new adventure as a married couple!
