"Michael moved from the Chicago suburbs to Traverse City in the winter of 2014 to take a job at the Health Department. One of my uncles, also named Mike, works at the Health Department and he got to know my Mike and they found out they had some things in common. They both like to hunt, and they would often go out to Buckley area to hunt on my grandmother's (maternal) property. Mike met my grandmother, and she inquired whether he had met her granddaughter yet. He awkwardly Facebook messaged me while in my grandmother's living room (which definitely creeped me out at first, lol) and we messaged back and forth for a couple days until we decided to meet up for dinner one evening at Red Ginger on July 27, 2015. The rest is history."
Way to go Grandma! Four years later when these two tied the knot, they invited us along to film the whole thing. We can't wait to share it with you!
We arrived to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church downtown Traverse City to find the ladies of A Day in May, Event Planning & Design already at work making sure everything was perfect. We found Jami and Michael, said hello, and got everything ready for their ceremony. Michael got to the top of the aisle and looked dashing in his Captain's Quarters tux. We just loved his reaction to Jami walking down the aisle (I mean come on, between the Pnina Tornai gown, make up by Memorable Occasions Hair and Beauty Lounge, and hair by Signature Salon - we don't blame him one bit for being blown away)! After vows, an exchange of rings, and a kiss, we were off on an adventure!
We traveled around with Traverse City Wine & Beer Tours for photos at the beautiful Bowers Harbor Vineyards with The Weber Photographers. Jami and Michael enjoyed toasts and their favorite drinks in the summer sun with all of their favorite people, and before long we were all off to The Hagerty Center. A Day in May, Event Planning & Design truly transformed this space! Guests enjoyed cocktail hour before entering into the dining space... where BLOOM Floral Design created some epic and dramatic designs. Bella e Dolce created an absolutely massive cake, and the two enjoyed cutting a slice before moving onto dancing the night away thanks to the sounds of 2BaysDJs.
We had the best time at this event, and enjoyed spending the day with Jami and Michael so much. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations on forever!
