Elizabeth and Anees have a one of a kind love story; one that starts a decade ago with friendship, trust, and communication. A story that spans distance, life changes, and growth. And a story that we literally cannot wait any longer to share with you.
Sometimes, we’ll tell you the story of how a couple came to be, but Elizabeth and Anees did that perfectly, so instead, we’re just going to share their trailer with you.
The two spent the morning getting ready with all of their loves ones. While Anees got a shave and his groomsmen had one amazing dance party, Liz and the girls got their hair done by Christine Parish and Britt Horganand, then their make up done by Emily from Leigh’s. Liz enjoyed time with her girls before slipping into her gorgeous gown (we just adore the asymmetrical neckline) and seeing her dad for the first time. And when she asks if he likes the dress he responds with a heartwarming ‘I love the dress…. I love the girl in it!”. Before long, Anees was suited up and Elizabeth was dancing and singing with her girlfriends before they all headed to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church for their ceremony.
Once the two were crowned as husband and wife and circled the alter to seal the deal, they kissed and were officially married. Leaving the church behind them, Elizabeth and Anees got to travel around town with Marie Clark Photography for photos around East Grand Rapids. Meanwhile, guests headed to the reception.
This wedding was special for a lot of reasons, but it was also the debut event at a brand new Grand Rapids wedding and event venue, The High Five. That’s right, when Elizabeth wanted to get married she went to her parents and asked if they would turn the top floor of their business’s building into a venue. And let’s just say, her parents will do anything for their children, including a huge new business venture (and we can’t wait for you all to experience the love put into this flawless industrial space, and to see what amazing event opportunities this opens for the family). While guests enjoyed cocktail and hor devours, we were able to capture all of the amazing details of their reception.
As always, Posh Petals did an amazing job with coordination and Floral design. With lots of greenery, candle light, and lush white flowers the whole space was overflowing with romance. We loved the mismatched linens, the bistro lights, the hash-tagged names for each course. Everything was absolutely perfect. The two entered through a tunnel of their 20+ bridal party members and danced the night away thanks to DJ Abe. After being lifted on chairs, tons of clapping, dancing, and laughing, they enjoyed a delicious dinner from Kangaroo Catering and drinks from Maddalena’s Catering.Next were toasts from loved ones, and a whole table of delectable desserts. Instead of cutting a cake, these two shared an Oreo, and it’s just such a simple example of their fun loving nature and relationship.
The day was gorgeous from start to finish, but it was also full of so much friendship and love, and all we can do is hope that the rest of Elizabeth and Anees’ marriage is filled with just as much joy as their wedding day. Congratulations on a lifetime of love, you two. We wish you all the best in all of the new adventures coming your way as a married couple.
