Catherine + GuanJie met online, they bonded over a passion for dancing, and their passion for life. The two quickly fell in love, and it wasn’t long before the two were wed. In fact, they said “I do” in the same church Catherine’s parents did in 1984!
The girls and guys spent the morning getting ready (separately) at The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. GuanJie was nervous, but was soon getting into his Men’s Wearhouse tux with some of his best friends and feeling a little more calm. Meanwhile, Catherine got her make-up done by Flawless Beauty by Debra with her girlfriends before she slipped into her stunning lace wedding gown, and sparkly peep toe heels (which we loved).
The two were wed at St. James Church, where Catherine was walked down the aisle by both of her parents, a very sentimental moment for all. With custom vows the two wrote themselves, an exchange of rings, and a kiss, it wasn’t long before they were exiting their ceremony and were onto their reception at The Elks. There was bright floral on every table by Designing Dreams LLC, a cake that Catherine helped design by Desserts By Lori (this was a little extra special because it was topped with the Taiwanese double happiness symbol in honor of GuanJie’s heritage), a photobooth by West Michigan Shutterbooth, and the whole day was coordinated by Cheri Heward at Small Town Wedding. The two had blast all night; from their grand entrance that had a choreographed dance with the whole bridal party, a light saber fight with their cake knifes before the couple shared the first piece, to an elegant and romantic first dance together, the only thing left to do was to dance with all of their closest family and friends to music by Moments In Time DJ’s.
We had so much fun with these two, and loved how their smiles lasted all day.
We wish them the best on their journey as husband and wife!
