From the groom:
“Lena and I met five and a half years ago in Detroit, MI. I was traveling to Detroit for a convention and mutual family friends introduced us. We became friends and stayed in touch over the years. We started dating memorial weekend 2012, and it didn’t take long for us to fall completely in love with each other. We got engaged February 22, 2013. We have been long distance our entire relationship and are so excited to finally be together forever…”

Modern Day Floral does it again… Seriously, Derek & Lena’s wedding was like walking into a dream from the morning they woke up until the last dance under hanging crystals at the Amway Grand Plaza & Hotel.
Derek & Lena spent the morning with all of their friends and family, cheering while Derek got his shave, dancing when Lena slipped into her swoon-worthy, textured ball gown and her amazing Jimmy Choo stilettos! The party began in the morning, and was followed by a beautiful Orthodox Christian ceremony in the beautiful St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church. The harmonies during their ceremony induced goose-bumps in the office as we put this together, and the cathedral ceilings were to-die-for!
And then the party began!
What a reception! It was like walking into a dream of purple lit walls, beautiful, lush florals gracing every table, large manzanita branch centerpieces covered in draping crystals and candle light. The head table was literally covered in floral and a shimmery sequin linen, which made Lena look like a simply stunning bride.
And the dancing! Jad Soudah Entertainment, an Arabic Band, got the dancing started from the moment Derek & Lena walked through the door, and the entertainer, Tony Bahu, had the guests going crazy over his drum stunts!
We can’t wait to see the photos Jen Kroll Photography captured of the day, and we wish Derek + Lena nothing but complete happiness from this day forward!
