As promised in my previous blog post here are some highlights from Christine and Nate’s Rehearsal / Dinner. Most of these images are straight out of my new Nikon D3 camera… simply amazing what this camera can do. I should also point out that I never used flash for any of these shots. It’s all natural light… and fairly dark for a church. The Nikon D3 rocks my world.
Below, Christine and Nate go over some last minute details before things get started.
Nate with his parents…
The mother of the bride…
And the Bridesmaids…
Yes this one (below) has been touched up. Just goes to show that a lot of the artistry is done in photoshop as well as at the moment the photograph was taken. I LOVE this shot!
Christine gives Nate a cute little “look”. : )
Another photo that I “worked with” in photoshop. I love this one too. : )
Grandpa was taking it all in.
After a very smooth rehearsal, we left the church to go to Christine’s parent’s cottage on Lake Macatawa. The first thing that caught my eye when I arrived was this swing.
A few detail shots. These next few images are straight out of the camera.
The food was to die for. The Gilmore Collection did an outstanding job, and their staff was incredible. Highly recommend them!
Even the Beer “dressed up” for the evening. : )
So these next few photo’s are for my daughter. Being a father of a little girl, I’ve found a new found appreciation for fathers and daughters. This was the flower girl in the wedding.
And my FAVORITE SHOT (maybe of the whole evening)… the flower girl running down the dock to meet her father with open arms for her. Priceless.
Here’s a quick peak at dinner. I’m not much of a seafood person, but I tried and LIKED everything. Especially the shrimp.
I think Christine looks like a rock star in this photo. Even if she’s just getting some corn… she looks like a rock star while doing it. 🙂
Leesa – The beautiful mother of the bride. Here Leesa gives some memories of Christine and a toast…
Christine takes it all in.
A lot of friends and family shared many great memories and special blessings with Nate and Christine. Here Nate’s groomsmen shares some words for Nate.
Just after dinner… the sky was amazing. (that black spec in the sky is an “ultra light” aircraft)
And to close the day… a shot of the ring bearer with his mom. : ) (mind you this photograph was taken at 10pm… about 40 minutes after sunset – gotta love that Nikon D3 camera… wow)
Can all rehearsal’s be like this?! Wow! I was so glad to have had the opportunity to get to know the family the day before the wedding, and capture this elegant and yet relaxed event. Thank you for having me Christine and Nate!
Stay tuned for more pictures tomorrow!
