This week I had the pleasure of shooting my good friend Rachel. Rachel and I met at Compass Film Academy where we both took a film class together in 2003, and have since served on the Alumni Board for Compass for more than 2 years. Rachel recently went into business for herself doing a variety of jobs in the film industry including script supervising, producing, acting and hopefully (with the help of these pictures) … some modeling. : ) Rachel asked me to take some pictures for her portfolio and we had a blast shooting in my studio. We had planned to shoot outside, but this whole week has been filled with rain… so into the studio we went!
So, world…. here is Rachel.
This next shot is one of my FAVORITES!
Again below is a favorite of mine. Not really a picture that will be used for a head shot/bio card, but an artistic photograph that I’m proud to have created. I couldn’t decide which I liked more, as the color and B&W versions communicate completely different things. What do you think?
These last 2 shots turned out great. It was the end of the shoot and we both were really getting into a groove. In my opinion there’s so much being communicated in her eye’s on these last shots… In many ways modeling is like acting. You have to be engaged, thinking, projecting emotion and feeling… and thats exactly what Rachel did… especially on these last 2 shots.
Since Rachel isn’t with an agency yet, please feel free to contact me if you want to book her for a shoot. Once she has an agency representing her, I’ll be sure to update this last paragraph with her updated contact information.
Thanks Rachel for trusting me to do these pictures for you. I’m honored to have been able to share this experience with you, and wish you all the best!
